A Vision Born From Purpose
Mary Bilingual Comprehensive High School was founded in June 2019 with a clear and ambitious vision: to create an institution where academic excellence, bilingual education, and practical skills come together to prepare students for a rapidly changing world. From the very beginning, the school was designed to bridge educational divides, bringing together Anglophone and Francophone learners under one unified system of quality and opportunity.
Our founders recognized a growing need in Cameroon for a school that did more than teach for exams. The goal was to nurture confident, skilled, and globally competitive students who could thrive academically, professionally, and culturally.
Rising During a Time of Challenge
Mary Bilingual officially became operational in April 2020, at a time when the global education sector faced unprecedented disruption. While many institutions struggled, this period became a defining moment in our journey. Rather than slowing down, the school adapted quickly, strengthening systems, supporting students, and reinforcing a culture of resilience and discipline.
These early challenges shaped our identity. They taught us the value of innovation, flexibility, and strong leadership principles that continue to guide our growth today.
Growth with Purpose
What began as a bold idea soon transformed into a thriving academic community. In just four years, student enrollment grew from approximately 750 students to over 1,050 learners, reflecting the growing trust of parents and the wider community.
Alongside this growth came steady improvements in academic performance:
- O-Level pass rates rose from 20% in 2019 to 58% in 2024
- A-Level results reached a historic 94% pass rate in 2024
- Advanced Level results achieved an impressive 82% pass rate
These outcomes are not accidental. They are the result of deliberate planning, qualified educators, continuous assessment, and a student-centered approach to learning.
Building a Comprehensive Educational Model
Over the years, Mary Bilingual Comprehensive High School expanded beyond traditional general education to become a fully comprehensive institution. Today, we proudly offer:
- General Education in both Anglophone and Francophone systems
- Technical and Vocational Programs across industrial and commercial disciplines
- A strong emphasis on bilingual fluency, ensuring every graduate is confident in both English and French
This integrated model allows students to choose pathways that align with their talents, interests, and career aspirations, whether academic, technical, or entrepreneurial.
