Mary Bilingual Comprehensive High School – A Refuge of Hope

In the quiet town of Loum, a powerful story of transformation is unfolding.
Mary Bilingual Comprehensive High School (MBCHS) was founded in 2019 by Mr. Ngwana Constantine Tembong as a compassionate response to Cameroon’s ongoing socio-political crisis that displaced thousands of families from the North West and South West regions.

What began as a modest effort to educate a few displaced children has grown into a vibrant academic community of over 1,050 students—each carrying dreams of becoming teachers, doctors, engineers, and leaders. Today, MBCHS stands as a symbol of resilience, inclusion, and opportunity, offering children not just education, but hope and a sense of belonging.

Our Story

When violence and instability forced many children to abandon their homes and schools, Loum became a refuge for hundreds seeking safety.
Amid this hardship, Mr. Tembong saw a generation in danger of being lost—and chose to act. With personal sacrifice and the support of a few dedicated teachers, he founded MBCHS to give displaced and vulnerable children access to quality education and emotional stability.

Over the years, the school has expanded from a few classrooms to a full-fledged bilingual institution, serving students from across Cameroon’s northern, southern, and western regions. Despite limited resources, MBCHS continues to grow—driven by the belief that education can rebuild lives and shape a peaceful future.

Our Mission

To restore hope and dignity by providing accessible, bilingual, and skill-oriented education to children affected by displacement and poverty.
