Mary Bilingual Comprehensive High School welcomes students from diverse backgrounds who are ready to learn, grow, and uphold the values of discipline, excellence, and respect. Our admission requirements are designed to ensure that students are placed in programs and levels that best support their academic success and personal development.

Admission is based on academic readiness, age suitability, and the ability to benefit from the school’s bilingual and comprehensive education system.

General Admission Criteria

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following general requirements:

  • Completion of the previous academic level
  • Possession of relevant academic records and report cards
  • Demonstrated ability to meet academic and behavioral expectations
  • Willingness to comply with school rules and policies

Admission decisions are made fairly and transparently, in the best interest of the student.

Admission into Lower Secondary (Forms 1 – 3)

Applicants seeking admission into Forms 1 to 3 must:

  • Present a valid primary school certificate or end-of-year report
  • Meet the age requirements for the level applied
  • Demonstrate basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Pass any placement assessment or interview where required

Students are placed at appropriate levels based on academic readiness.

Admission into Upper Secondary (Forms 4 & 5 – O-Level)

For admission into Forms 4 and 5, applicants are required to:

  • Present previous secondary school report cards
  • Meet subject and performance requirements for the intended program
  • Demonstrate readiness for GCE O-Level studies
  • Participate in an academic assessment or interview if required

Program placement depends on academic background and subject availability.

Admission into Sixth Form (Lower & Upper Sixth)

Admission into Lower Sixth requires:

  • A minimum number of passes at GCE O-Level or equivalent
  • Relevant subject combinations for the chosen A-Level or Advanced Level program
  • Academic records and certificates for verification

Admission into Upper Sixth is based on:

  • Successful completion of Lower Sixth
  • Satisfactory academic performance
  • Recommendation from previous school or internal assessment

Admission into Technical and Commercial Programs

Applicants seeking admission into technical and commercial programs must:

  • Meet the academic requirements for the chosen program
  • Demonstrate interest and aptitude for practical or business-oriented studies
  • Provide relevant academic records

Some programs may require practical assessments or interviews to ensure suitability.

Required Admission Documents

Applicants are expected to provide the following documents during the admission process:

  • Completed application or admission form
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Birth certificate or age declaration
  • Academic transcripts or report cards
  • GCE certificates (where applicable)
  • Transfer letter or testimonial from previous school

All documents must be authentic and verifiable.

Bilingual Placement Considerations

As a bilingual institution, language proficiency is considered during placement. Students may be guided into Anglophone or Francophone sections based on background, with opportunities to strengthen proficiency in both English and French.

Admission Review and Placement

All applications are reviewed carefully to ensure appropriate placement. The school reserves the right to:

  • Place students at levels best suited to their academic ability
  • Recommend alternative programs where necessary
  • Conduct interviews or assessments to support placement decisions
